On Location: Shrine Game Recap | Day Three

Here’s a recap of day three practice in Orlando at the 86th Annual East-West Shrine Game. This report was filed by NFL Draft Analyst Joe Everett who is on location:

EAST SQUAD RISERS

ANTHONY SHERMAN – FB – UCONN: Sherman is a traditional fullback that has adequate size and the strength required to stone linebackers in the open lane. I was continually impressed with his hard charging running and old school blocking today.

SCOTT LUTRUS – LB –UCONN: Lutrus isn’t the best athlete by any stretch of the imagination but he’s assignment sound and he sheds blocks well while maintaining his vision in pursuit of the ball carrier. He took proper angles on plays to the outside and absolutely blew up a screen pass today.

DAVID ARKIN – OG – MISSOURI STATE: This small school product

On Location: Shrine Game West Recap | Day Two

The East-West Shrine Game practices are under way in Orlando, Florida and day Two of practices were much more exciting than the walk through in the hotel ballroom on Monday.

Tuesday’s practices featured full pads, position drills, and full scrimmages. Here’s a few of the players from the East squad who made an impression:

WEST

ANTHONY PARKER – WR – CALGARY: Parker had a few drops early in one on one drills but really started to warm up during seven on seven drills and didn’t drop a pass during the live scrimmage. He had a great grab at the sidelines on one of many overthrown passes during the practice. The small school prospect is beginning to make a name for himself.

JORDAN CAMERON – TE – USC: This former basketball player really brings a drastic size mismatch on the football

EAST

PERRY BAKER – WR – FAIRMONT STATE: The small-school product looked great today catching passes away from his body, making plays on the sideline, and showing real quickness in and out of his breaks. He had no problems getting open against the East corners and showed excellent body control after the catch.

LESTER JEAN – WR – FLORIDA ATLANTIC: Lester Jean is a very wide player that measured in at 6’3” 211 pounds. He has strong hands and made some really nice catches on some poorly thrown
