After a rumor circulated around the internet that Jacquizz Rodgers would declare for the 2011 NFL Draft, the Oregon State running back has done his best spin job to deny the story.
“People don’t know what they’re talking about,” Rodgers told the Portland Tribune Tuesday.
OSU coach Mike Riley — who spoke Tuesday with Rodgers and his uncle, Rodney Williams — said the plan all along has been for Quizz to submit his name to the NFL committee that evaluates the draft status of underclassmen, according to the Portland Tribune.
“Quizz is nowhere near making a decision,” Riley said. “When he gathers the necessary information, what he does will be a personal decision. We will support it either way.”
