Ten thoughts from around the college football landscape, straight from the mind of Lloyd Ribner III.

1) I would like to begin this week by shining some light on a player who often gets overshadowed by his SEC counterparts. Randall Cobb is a receiver for the University of Kentucky and while I don’t know if he can dance like former Wildcat John Wall (and do “The Dougie”), he sure puts up stats like him.  Cobb leads the SEC in receptions and is third in the nation in all-purpose yards. In addition, he is second in the SEC with seven receiving touchdowns, has passed for three, rushed for three and has returned a punt for a touchdown.

2) I know we have spoken a great deal about the Heisman, but have you ever seen a race like this? The front-runner, Cam Newton has a new off-the-field headline

2011 NFL Draft Stock Watch

With 10 weeks of college football now in the books, there’s a lot of players that have improved their draft stock but there’s also a few that have played poorly and seen their draft stock plummet as a result.

The following is an early look at the top draft eligible risers & fallers thus far in college football and what we can expect from them going forward.

Star quarterback Robert Griffin III of Baylor joins CFI Founder Daniel Mogollon in this player spotlight. Griffin has thrown for 2,859 yards and 20 touchdowns (six interceptions) this season with a completion percentage of 66.1 percent. The red-shirt sophomore and track star has also rushed for 416 yards and seven scores. Griffin has led the second-place Baylor Bears to a 7-3 record so far this season and will play host to Texas A&M this Saturday.
