FCS Watch: Janoris Jenkins Selects N. Alabama
Former University of Florida defensive back Janoris Jenkins will play his senior season at the University of North Alabama after signing an athletic grant-in-aid with the Lions late Wednesday. Jenkins, an All-Southeastern Conference selection in 2010, had eight career interceptions at Florida, including three during his junior season. He returned one 67 yards for a touchdown. He was projected by some as a first-round draft pick after his junior year.
Jenkins became just the second true freshman in Florida history to start at cornerback on opening day. He was named to College Football News and Sporting News′ Freshman All-American team. North Alabama is coming off a 9-4 season that saw the Lions advance to the NCAA Division II playoffs for the sixth consecutive season. UNA is approaching its third season under head coach Terry Bowden, who has led the Lions to a 20-6 record over the last two years, including

One to Watch: Travis Benjamin, Miami
If you’re looking for one of the purest displays of speed at the wideout position in college football, then look no further than the University of Miami’s Travis Benjamin. The 5’10”, 176-pound pass catcher is, after all, a flat-out burner — as a sophomore, he posted a 4.26 40-yard dash — and over the past two years, has easily established himself as one of the fastest athletes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (he finished fourth in the 60-meter dash at the ACC Championships in 2010 and then set a school record in the same race to open up the 2011 season).
Paired up with LaRon Byrd and Leonard Hankerson since his arrival in Coral Gables in 2008, the Belle Glade, Florida native has thus far served as one-third of

CHRIS SUMMERS (Liberty): Just like a star power forward going after a rebound, the 6’5” Summers is the type of player who can just flat out elevate to catch the ball at its highest point. This Braylon Edwards clone has come a long way since his freshman year when he could barely bench 135 pounds and struggled to maintain possession after contact. The once lanky wideout has grown into a physical athlete who can haul in a short pass, shake off defenders and take it to the house. He absolutely will not be denied on jump balls. Summers must still work on staying low when coming off the line of scrimmage.
WILLIE CARTER (Howard): Also known as Willie “the Kid,” Howard is a raw, but promising playmaker with impressive acceleration to turn on the
