Korey Lindsey-Woods, CB, Southern Illinois

After interviewing so many players over the past six years, you start to develop almost a sixth sense about those players that possess that quite confidence it takes to be a true leader on a team.  Well, let’s just say it didn’t take long to get that feeling during my recent conversation with Korey as he prepared for the East West Shrine Bowl.

What are your official size and weight

I am 5-11 ¾ and 188 pounds

What do you consider your biggest strength?

No doubt my ball hawking mentality

Q&A: Matt Murphy, OT, UNLV

Recently, I had a conversation with one of the most underrated players available in the 2011 NFL Draft, UNLV standout tackle, Matt Murphy.   Talking to Matt was certainly enjoyable and made me think of great Teddy Roosevelt “speak softly and carry a big stick” as Matt battles some of the biggest guys on the field but has always showed himself off the field as a gentlemen and scholar.

What is your official height and weight?

I am 6-4 and 308 lbs.

You have started 45 straight games at LT and have played in every game since stepping foot on campus.  What is the biggest reason for your durability?

I’ve played football my whole life and feel honestly I’m built for it.  I train properly during the off-season and make sure I’m in proper shape for the season.

What is your view

NFL: Around the League Divisional Ramble

We’re down to a final four that features two number two seeds against two number six seeds. The Jets took care of the AFC’s number one seed in surprisingly easy style, and the Packers did the same in dispatching the number one seeded Falcons. Pittsburgh and Chicago held their home field against Baltimore and Seattle respectively, and will be rewarded with another game in their friendly confines. All four of the remaining teams have had to overcome major adversity at some point this season—the Jets were crushed by New England and followed that with a loss to Miami, while fellow AFC finalist Pittsburgh had to play the season’s first four games without their quarterback. Ravaged by injuries all season, Green Bay had to play key games without their concussed quarterback down the stretch, and the Bears looked like anything but a contender after they were embarrassed at the

NFL: Inside The Numbers Playoff Edition

“This team is such a strong team. You knew they were going to give everything they had, and it was enough,” said Dan Rooney while commenting on his Steelers’ win over the Baltimore Ravens. The chairman emeritus of the organization added, “It was a great game. Both teams played extremely well. It was a battle and I’m happy we came out victorious.”

Mr. Rooney touched on something when he said, “This is team is such a strong team.” This isn’t the same Steelers team that won the Super Bowl only two short years ago. Willie Parker, the team’s leading rusher, is gone as are the MVP of Super Bowl XLIII, Santonio Holmes, who was dealt the New York Jets for a fifth round pick, and former kicker Jeff Reed, who was part of the last two Steelers Super Bowl-winning teams.

Tony Dorsett Sizes Up the Cowboys

Tony Dorsett Sizes Up the Cowboys

Dallas Cowboy legend Tony Dorsett was one of the many ex-players on hand at the Saturday, Jan. 15 Walter Camp Black Tie Dinner in New Haven, CT., as he offered a quick review of his old team in the wake of a disappointing 6-10 campaign.

“I think the offensive line is getting a little older. You can use good offensive and defensive linemen. The secondary can also use some help, but other than that I really don’t see much more than they need,” stated the former running back whose outstanding 12-year pro career earned him a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Dorsett endorsed the direction America’s Team is going in with head coach Jason Garrett and forecasted sunny days ahead for Dallas’ offense with the return of their field general Tony Romo next season. In fact, he had no qualms putting Dallas right

Q&A: Rick Elmore, DE, Arizona

I’ve spoken to a lot of players over the past few seasons but not many have come close to being as polite and refreshing at Arizona’s defensive end, Rick Elmore. It is really hard to believe this is the same guy who struck fear into QBs the past few seasons at Arizona (21 sacks in the past two years).

What is your official height and weight?

I am 6-5 and go 256 lbs.

Describe yourself in a few words?

I am focused, determined, tough and reliable.

Who was your biggest influence growing up?

My mother without question because you see we lost my father when I was young and I saw my mom work two or three jobs to take care of us.

What are you doing to prepare for the NFL Draft?

I am currently

Walter Camp: John Moffitt Takes No Prisoners

Walter Camp: John Moffitt Takes No Prisoners

Wisconsin product John Moffitt wore his colors proud at the annual Walter Camp Black Tie dinner in New Haven, Connecticut, as he spoke with great dignity about being a part of Wisconsin’s pulverizing offensive line, which averaged 247.3 rushing yards per game during the 2010 regular season.

“At Wisconsin and in the Big Ten, there’s an o-lineman tradition. I think Wisconsin is at the top of the Big Ten with that tradition,” said the imposing 6’5”, 323-pound interior road grater, who helped pave the way for a formidable three-headed running back arsenal that put up 3,060 yards.

“We get a lot of guys who are local guys who buy into it and work hard; we’re not lazy guys. We have a great coach in Bob Bostad. Personally, I thought
