2011 NFL Draft Stock Watch: 12/28/10

With the holiday now out of the way, the NFL Draft is drawing closer by the day. Each and every week we see prospects that elevate their draft stock, but we also see players that slide down draft boards for a number of different reasons. With that in mind, here’s the Holiday edition of our Draft Stock Watch, a list of six players that are on their way up draft boards and six others that are heading in the opposite direction.

KENDALL HUNTER RB OKLAHOMA STATE: It’s been obvious that Hunter is a pro back, but he really struggled with injuries last year and had to learn a new offense coming into this season. Offensive coordinator

Ryan Kerrigan Accepts Invitation To Senior Bowl

MOBILE, Ala. The North roster for next month’s Under Armour Senior Bowl just got a whole lot better. Purdue defensive end Ryan Kerrigan, the reigning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, has officially accepted an invitation to the 2011 game.

Kerrigan’s invitation marks a fifth straight year at least one Boilermaker will play in the prestigious game, and he is the 13th Purdue representative in the past eight seasons.

The 62nd game is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 29 in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. It will be televised live by NFL Network.

“Ryan has proven to be one of the most dominant pass rushers in the nation,” said Senior Bowl President and CEO Steve Hale. “He is an outstanding prospect and a player that I think will really turn some heads down here in Mobile.”

Around the NFL: The Week 16 Ramble

One week left. It’ll be a matter of playing out the string for the majority of NFL teams, some of which will be shocked at that, but for others it’s a final opportunity to qualify for the postseason. Jacksonville and San Diego showed their true colors in defeat, while upstart Kansas City and playoff mainstay Indianapolis took care of their business with much-needed victories. Both wild card spots in the AFC have been locked up (Jets/Ravens) and we have a pretty good sense of who’s going to win every division except the NFC West. That spot will be appropriately decided in a final-game clash between Seattle and St. Louis. There’s one wild card spot up for grabs and it’s in the hands of the Packers, with the Giants deservedly on the outside looking in.

The G-Men are in that predicament because they were embarrassed

Exclusive: Steelers Share Christmas Memories

“When I was growing up we didn’t win very many games, so that’s what I always wanted,” said Art Rooney II, President of the Pittsburgh Steelers. “As time went on, thank God we started to win. It was 38 years ago that the Immaculate Reception happened, and that’s when things started to turn around. That was a great Christmas present.”

Any fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers must sleep like a baby knowing their owner was wishing for wins for Christmas as a little boy growing up. After the Steelers handled the struggling Carolina Panthers 27-3 at Heinz Field, the players were able to get a head start on a long weekend, as Coach Tomlin was giving the team off until Monday.

Mr. Rooney walked over shoulder pads and sweaty jerseys to shake hands and say ‘Merry Christmas’ to any of the 53 men that helped the

Scout’s Notebook: Utah-Boise St. (MAACO Bowl)

There was no way a dominant one-loss Boise St. team should have been playing in a minor bowl game three days before Christmas. But instead of sulking and giving a half-hearted effort, the Broncos proved how formidable they truly are in destroying Utah by a 26-3 tally that could have even more lopsided. The Blue Turf Brigade’s Kellen Moore carved up the Utes with surgical precision after a shaky start, while the adversary’s sloppiness on both sides of the ball proved damaging.

Moore toys with the opposition

An out-of-sync and downright rusty Kellen Moore wasn’t his normal efficient self in the first quarter. In fact after fumbling away the ball to the Utes on a Christian Cox sack on the opening series, the junior quarterback later threw a pick thanks to a Cox pressure, forcing the hasty throw.

In addition to the two turnovers, Moore

Attention NFL Agents: SRA Tracker Coming Soon

The NFL Draft Bible has been contacted by a large number of individual agents and companies who have said they have come across their names being wrongly associated with potential 2011 NFL Draft clients throughout several Internet sites… this can confuse the clients you are signing or recruiting and is easily prevented by the fact that cross-checking or contacting the player/agent to simply get a yes or no answer would seemingly involve an extra step of professionalism that most do not seem to see as necessary in today’s business of reporting information first and then learning later if it is correct or not… we would like to offer agents reading this the chance to officially send the list of the players they have indeed signed to SRA’s to ric@nfldraftbible.com and we will list those on a regular basis as they are received from you directly.
