NFL: Rosstradamus Week In Review

It was a case of status quo this weekend in the NFC, as eight of the conference’s nine playoff contenders won. Among those battling for a post-season berth only Tampa Bay suffered a defeat, to Atlanta, and it was not a surprising loss. The AFC cannot say the same: Indianapolis lost at home to Dallas and San Diego lost for the second time this season to the Oakland Raiders. The pair of high-profile losses left Jacksonville and Kansas City in charge of their respective divisions. That cannot be too surprising since those teams have been lurking for months, but most of us thought it was just a matter of time before the…fancier teams assumed control.

After a rumor circulated around the internet that Jacquizz Rodgers would declare for the 2011 NFL Draft, the Oregon State running back has done his best spin job to deny the story.

“People don’t know what they’re talking about,” Rodgers told the Portland Tribune Tuesday.

OSU coach Mike Riley — who spoke Tuesday with Rodgers and his uncle, Rodney Williams — said the plan all along has been for Quizz to submit his name to the NFL committee that evaluates the draft status of underclassmen, according to the Portland Tribune.

“Quizz is nowhere near making a decision,” Riley said. “When he gathers the necessary information, what he does will be a personal decision. We will support it either way.”

The 5’7, 190-pound speedster is projected to play mostly wide receiver at the next level (Think Dexter McCluster). He currently projects to be
