Denver Broncos: Team Needs Rookie Review On The Clock Insider Podcast

2011 NFL Draft–

  • NT – After two unsuccessful seasons playing the 3-4 defense under the Josh McDaniels regime, the coaching staff has once again been overhauled with new head coach John Fox bringing his 4-3 defense mentality. Jamal Williams is a true nose tackle and does not fit the new scheme. Thus, one of the Broncos’ top priorities will be finding a defensive tackle to help anchor the middle of the defense. However, picking second overall, the defensive end talent available might be too enticing to pass up.
  • DE – There is expected to be a run early on defensive ends within the top 10 overall picks, which could cause Denver to put this need at the forefront. Many players from their current

2010 NFL Draft Class–

(1-16) Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech: The physical end gave fans a taste of his potential by powering his way around blockers versus the pass and holding his ground against the run. Unfortunately his season was cut short by a torn ACL in Week 4. Morgan’s quick first step, balance and technique are just a few of the ingredients that give the former Yellow Jacket a bright future. He reportedly plans on coming back 10 pounds lighter in 2011. Grade: B

(3-77) Damian Williams, WR, USC: It’s a mystery why the coaching staff often stuck with washed up veterans such as Justin Gage and Nate “Butterfingers” Washington instead of giving Williams some more play. The smooth rookie displayed his skills in small doses by running sharp routes

2010 NFL Draft Class–

(1-22) Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech: Aside from a breakout performance versus Seattle in week two, Thomas was a non-factor in 2010. Ankle and thumb injuries were partly to blame, as were his poor route-running. No one expected great things this early given the fact that his college years were spent in the triple-option offense. His ability to post up defenders with the ball in the air should make him quite the red zone target. “Bay Bay” also averaged 24.9 yards on kick returns. Grade: C+

(1-25) Tim Tebow, QB, Florida: The Florida Gator legend did better than many predicted during a three-game starting audition. There’s no doubt that Tebow transmitted a lot of passion and energy to his teammates. However, he also showed a tendency to

2011 NFL Draft–

  • QB – The Titans are going through a lot of changes this year with the loss of Head Coach Jeff Fisher but with Vince Young leaving town, the Titans are sure to look to the quarterback position early.  Kerry Collins is still serviceable but he’s on his last legs and Rusty Smith probably shouldn’t be in the league.  If Tennessee wants to get back into playoff contention they’ve got to find a way to get the ball into Kenny Britt’s hands on a regular basis.
  • OLB – With both Stephen Tulloch and David Thornton heading for restricted free agency the Titans will look to some talented backups, like second-year pro Rennie Curran, either on the weak side or in the middle if Tulloch is not retained. Veteran Will

Shiloh Keo’s Challenge of a Lifetime

SHILOH KEO’s CHALLENGE OF A LIFETIME

Giving Deion Sanders a hug after running his combine drills on national television was more than just a moment that rugged strong safety Shiloh Keo will never forget, but it was the culmination of the years of intense preparation and film study that has propelled the 5’11”, 219-pound pile driver to become of the top performers at his position as he waits to be drafted later this month.

Despite acing his agility drills in Indianapolis, the tireless worker recognized that he may not possess the pure straight-line speed many NFL teams covet out of their safeties in a passing league where defensive backs are expected to be versatile.

“I know I might not be a track star, but when it comes do doing football stuff, I feel that
