Alfonzo Dennard, a junior who has developed a reputation as a lockdown cornerback, is mulling whether to return to Nebraska declare for the NFL draft?
In a recent interview, Dennard, a 5-foot-10, 195-pounder from Rochelle, Ga., was quick to note that he’s considering many factors. His mother, Rose Mary Dennard, is a bit “shaky” right now, he said. When asked if he meant her finances or her health, Dennard said “both.”
“It depends on what my mom does,” Dennard said. “If my mom’s doing well, I’m doing well, and I might just stay. But I’ve got to help my family.”
Earlier this week, he wrote on his Facebook status that it was time to “get paid” and make his mother proud. He later tried to clarify, writing that the comment was not in reference to leaving school early.
