Virginia Tech running back Ryan Williams was dubbed by many as the best pro prospect running back in college football entering the season. After a lackluster start to the year and missing a series of games due to a hamstring iinjury, Williams saw his draft stock take a bit of a hit. But after scintillating 142 rushing yard performance against Miami, Williams is back on the radar as a potential first round pick.
The 5’10, 205-pound running back certainly has the NFL frame and speed (4.45 projected forty-time) to be a NFL running back, however, the redshirt sophomore might be better off staying in school for another year of seasoning to help solidify his draft status.
Currently, Williams is ranked as the No. 3 draft eligible running back on the NFL Draft Bible big board, which includes underclassmen.
