Seahawks DE Patrick Kerney has changed his mind and will retire from football after all, according to NFL.com’s Steve Wyche.
Draft Impact: This isn’t shocking news, considering reports that Kerney had already held a retirement party in late January. The 33-year-old has enjoyed a solid career and seemed to be on his way to reemerging as one of the league’s premiere pass rushers in 2007, when he notched 14.5 sacks. He was an unstoppable force that season, but major shoulder and elbow injuries over the past two years have convinced him to call it a career. But what does this mean for the Seahawks in terms of their draft? Defensive end was a need even with Kerney in the fold. At this point, Pete Carroll and company may have no choice but to take Derrick Morgan with their sixth pick in the first round, especially if the top two left
