Center/Guard prospect Zane Taylor might not have been the headliner before today’s pro day at Utah but he certainly is now.
Representatives and scouts of more than 20 NFL teams were in attendance when the interior lineman put up 41 bench reps of 225 pounds, besting his combine mark of 33 reps. Bill Callahan, offensive line coach for the Jets, was also present to watch Taylor in action. His forty time of 5.41 seconds was also an improvement on his results from Indianapolis and he also turned in a very respectable 26.5 inch vertical leap.
Cornerback Brandon Burton also participated in drills and workouts, as he improved on his 4.50 forty yard dash time and looked smooth in drills.
Unfortunately it wasn’t all roses for the Utes, as defensive back Justin Taplin-Ross injured his left leg during a drill and had to be helped off
