The Texas Longhorns have been struggling all season to find their run game; little did they know it would be found on the legs of their sophomore quarterback, Garrett Gilbert. The Longhorns also got a dominant performance from their defense—especially the front seven—as well as some timely miscues from a Nebraska team that had not yet faced an opposing defense with speed to match their own. Oh, and Nebraska really “dropped the ball” in this one and even had a chance to tie late in the game despite playing so poorly.
Texas came out and surprised the Huskers with 10 points behind a few designed draws for the guy who is supposed to have the arm for everything. Gilbert was patient in his reads on the draws and showed surprising ability in
