Top Linebacker Quad Sturdivant Busted

According to the Raleigh News & Observer North Carolina linebacker Quan Sturdivant was charged with possession of marijuana. The senior was arrested by the Albemarle police on Saturday morning and is scheduled to appear in Stanly County District Court on August 2 for the misdemeanor charge (less than half an ounce) the paper’s website reported.

Here is a statement from UNC Head Coach Butch Davis:

“We are disappointed in Quan’s actions over the weekend. This is not the type of behavior we expect from our student-athletes. In addition to the outcome of the legal process, he also will face disciplinary action from within the football program beginning immediately.”

It will be interesting to see exactly what type of disciplinary action the first team All-ACC performer will face. In

Community College, Todd made an immediate impact for Ball State in 2009, starting 11 games. He made 80 tackles (55 solo), had two tackles for loss, broke up four passes, recovered a fumble and had an interception. Todd, a native of Bear, Del., registered a career-best 12 tackles at Northern Illinois and also scored his first career touchdown on a career long 87-yard punt return at Western Michigan.

Supplemental Draft Pro Day: Joshua Price-Brent

Illinois defensive tackle Joshua Price-Brent worked out for 18 teams in hopes of being selected in the NFL’s Supplemental Draft. He checked in at 6’1 ¾” and 321 pounds. Price-Brent ran a 40-yard dash in 5.38 seconds, a 7.71-second three-cone drill and a 4.74-second short shuttle. He had an 8’10” broad jump, a 29″ vertical jump and did 22 reps of 225.

Supplemental Draft Pro Day: Harvey Unga

Former BYU running back Harvey Unga worked out for 20 teams at his Pro Day.  He measured in at 6’1″ and 244 pounds. The former Cougar ran a 4.65 40-yard dash, a 4.51 short shuttle and a 7.40 three-cone drill. He also had a vertical jump of 35″ and a broad jump of 9’6″.  Unga was dealing with a right ankle injury that caused him not to perform as well as he would have liked.
