Emerging Pac-12 Senior Defenders

Most of talent in the Pac-12 this season, as in the past, is thought to be on the offensive side of the ball. With the exception of Arizona State junior Vontaze Burfict, there aren’t any defensive players consistently projected near the top of their positions in next year’s draft, but the past has shown the conference typically has multiple defenders selected in the early rounds each year. If that trend is to continue, who will emerge this season?

The true senior is where the answer might be found. To become a fourth-year senior you need to be athletic and talented enough to make an impact as a true freshman, but not so gifted that you can declare for the draft after your junior season. NFL: Around The Web Rookie Report – Wed. 7/3

Lions WR Titus Young missed practice Tuesday with tightness in his leg, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Sam Bradford confirms the Rams are moving second-round TE Lance Kendricks around the offense in different formations. “It seems like that every time I look out there, he’s in there,” Bradford said. “Whether he is at ‘Y’ (in-line), he’s at ‘F’ (slot), he’s playing wide receiver some. I think he’s done a great job, he’s physical. He really stood out to me yesterday when we put the pads on and we had the ‘Ram Drill’.”

The Colts signed Anthony Castonzo, their first-round pick in April, to a deal Tuesday, the Associated Press reports.

NFL: Asomugha Lands With Eagles | 5yrs $60M

The Philadelphia Eagles have won the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes, signing the All Pro cornerback to a 5-year deal worth between $60-62M with $25M guaranteed. The Eagles seem to be #winning during the early start of the offseason landing cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie via trade, signing defensive end Jason Babin and adding quarterback Vince Young to backup Mike Vick.

Austintown Fitch Falcons have not one but two out standing wide receivers both Demitrious Davis and Chris Davis who are making their way to the BIG East after their senior season in high school. The dynamic duo are committing to Pitt to play for the Panthers and new head coach Todd Graham.  Austintown, Ohio’s high school version of the Barber’s both Tiki and Ronde who both played in the National Football League, the twin brother’s are well aware of Graham’s style of offense and know he likes to spread the ball around.  Graham said early when taking over the program “we’ll be the most explosive team in the country.” With Graham’s eye on making the offense go both Demitrious and Chris should flourish in their roles with the Panthers.
