Here’s a look at several teams who will have the ammo to trade up into the backend of the first round:

The Broncos are one of five teams with multiple picks in the second round (Nos. 43, 45). The other four are the Patriots, who have three (Nos. 44, 47, 53); the Eagles (Nos. 37, 55); the Bucs (Nos. 35, 42); and the Chiefs (Nos. 36, 50).

NFL: Jaguars Covet Free Safety | Nelson On Watch

Michael C. Wright, of The Florida Times-Union, reports the Jacksonville Jaguars may look to take a safety if they are able to trade down in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft and have taken long looks at Florida State FS Myron Rolle and Georgia Tech FS Morgan Burnett as possible targets. This could signal the end of Reggie Nelson in Jacksonville is near, as the team has reportedly all but given up on him.

Teams Previously Aware of Dwyer’s Status

Joe Schad, of ESPN, reports Georgia Tech RB Jonathan Dwyer tested positive at the NFL scouting combine for amphetamines. However, Dwyer’s agent said teams were aware of his client’s medical history. “All 32 teams received notification prior to the combine that a medication he’s taken since childhood would likely result in a positive result at the combine,” agent Adisa Bakari said. “We provided the necessary medical documentation.” Dwyer said the medication is for an attention deficit disorder. The NFL calls Dwyer’s situation a “therapeutic use exemption,” according to a source. “I have had it since I was in the fifth grade,” Dwyer said. “Georgia Tech knew about it when I went there. The NCAA knew about it before every drug test I took there. And the league knew about it before the combine as they got several letters from my doctor who prescribed me the medication.”

NFL: Ernie Sims to Philly in Three-Way Swap

The Lions have sent Ernie Sims to the Eagles as part of a three-team deal also involving the Broncos, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. In the trade, Detroit receives tight end Tony Scheffler and a seventh-round pick, while Denver picks up a fifth-round pick.

Mancini’s Take: Kudos to all parties involved in a deal that helps all three teams. Philly looks to be the big winner here as they scoop much a much-needed linebacker in Sims, whose stock had recently tumbled due to hamstring and shoulder injuries. But the upside is that Sims is only 25-years old and has proven to be a very athletic defender with extraordinary range versus the run and top-notch coverage skills. The Florida State product averaged 130 tackles in his first two seasons as a Lion and will almost recklesslythrow his body around to make a stop. The key to maximizing his physical tools is to put

Frosh Gardner Could Be The Answer In Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor, MI – Entering his third season, Michigan Wolverines Head Coach Rich Rodriguez missed out on his first chance at getting a dynamic player at the quarterback position when Terrell Pryor chose the Scarlet and Gray of Ohio St. over Michigan’s Maize and Blue back in 2008.

This past Saturday, April 17, the Michigan faithful filled the revamped Big House in Ann Arbor to begin the first of many debates on who will be the signal caller for the Wolverines in 2010. Denard Robinson opened up the spring game in the cold wind, with last year’s starter Tate Forcier coming in after that.

After those two got their snaps in, it was time for the freshman—one of the top incoming quarterbacks (ranked number one by Rivals.com and in the
