Draft Insider: Top 10 Senior Tight Ends

Rankings: QB RB WR TE |

The top 10 senior running backs, according to NFL Draft Guru Justin Van Fulpen. Counting you down to the 2012 NFL Draft…

1. Michael Egnew, Missouri – The Tiger has some of the most reliable hands among senior tight ends, which he displayed by registering 90 catches in 2010. He is long at 6’5”, but at 235-240 pounds he lacks the bulk of a true in-line tight end, so it should come as no surprise that he is not a great blocker. Egnew is an impressive athlete with the ability to stretch the defense, but if he’s going to make his living as a pass catcher, NFL teams want to see better run after-the-catch ability from the Big 12 product.

2. George Bryan, North Carolina State – Bryan has shown steady improvement over his college career, which includes the

Cam Newton | More QB Mentors Added To Camp

Cam Newton has been working out with former NFL quarterback Ken Dorsey, who started 13 career games in the NFL and played for new Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski for four seasons at the University of Miami.

Add Dorsey to the latest list of mentors for Newton, who has also been working out with former Panthers quarterback Chris Weinke on a regular basis and plans to workout with Brett Favre, who shares the same agent in Bus Cook.

Leading up the draft, Newton received teaching from quarterback guru Bob Whitfield and NFL legend Warren Moon, who heavily defended the former Heisman Trophy winner during the pre-draft process when Newton’s character was called into question.

These appear to be all the right steps for the number one overall pick, hopefully in translates into a prepared player for the Panthers as there

“It’s nothing serious at all,” Kaepernick assured. I’ll be ready for the season, ready for camp.”

The 49ers released a statement expressing full confidence that Kaepernick will be fine before the season, and confirming they “were fully aware of the injury at the time of the draft. The 49ers have no concerns.”

San Francisco views Kaepernick as their long-term signal caller and will receive tutoring from Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck on learning the pro style type offense that head coach Jim Harbugh likes run, which is a complete change than the ‘Pistol offense Kaepernick ran at Nevada.

Meanwhile, the 49ers will keep their options open once the NFL resumes business. Harbaugh has made it known publicly that
